APC names Osoba, Daniel, Amosun, others to lead Ogun campaign

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has assembled its major political figures in Ogun State, including former governors Olusegun Osoba, Gbenga Daniel and Ibikunle Amosun, as part of a 156-member campaign structure for the 2027 general elections.
The move brings the party’s former governors, serving political office holders and other key stakeholders into a single campaign machinery tasked with mobilising support for the APC across the state’s 20 local government areas.
The structure, contained in a document signed by the Ogun State APC Chairman, Yemi Sanusi, and made available to journalists on Tuesday, names Governor Dapo Abiodun as Chairman of the Campaign Council, while the party’s governorship candidate and Senator representing Ogun West, Solomon Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, will serve as Co-Chairman.
Former Senator representing Ogun East, Lekan Mustapha, was appointed Director-General of the campaign council.
Osoba, a national leader of the party, was named Grand Patron, while Daniel and Amosun, both former governors of the state, were designated Deputy Grand Patrons.
The composition is significant as the party seeks to consolidate its political structures and present a united campaign ahead of a general election in which control of the state and other elective positions will be contested.
The Deputy Governor, Noimot Salako-Oyedele, and the APC Deputy Governorship candidate, Kudirat Adegunwa-Balogun, were named Deputy Chairmen of the campaign team.
Sanusi will serve as Vice Chairman, while the Secretary to the State Government, Tokunbo Talabi, and the Minister of State for Health, Kunle Salako, were appointed Vice Director-General, Campaign Operations, and Vice Director-General, Administration, respectively.
The party also released the membership of various committees responsible for campaign and mobilisation activities across the state’s 20 local government areas.
According to Sanusi, the campaign council comprises party leaders, political stakeholders and other key members of the APC who will coordinate grassroots mobilisation, media and publicity, logistics, contact and mobilisation, as well as youth and women engagement.
“The campaign council comprises party leaders, political stakeholders and other key members of the APC, who are expected to coordinate grassroots mobilisation, media and publicity, logistics, contact and mobilisation, youth and women engagement, as well as other critical aspects of the campaign,” he said.
Sanusi said the committees were constituted to strengthen the party’s structures and ensure effective coordination of its activities ahead of the 2027 elections.
He urged members of the various committees to work together to secure victory for the APC across the presidential, governorship, senatorial, House of Representatives and State House of Assembly elections.
“The members of the various committees are therefore urged to work collectively towards securing an overwhelming victory for the APC in the presidential, governorship, senatorial, House of Representatives and State House of Assembly elections,” he said.
The unveiling of the campaign council marks a major step in the APC’s preparations for the 2027 elections, with the party moving to consolidate its structures and intensify mobilisation across Ogun State.
