Covid-19: Nigeria Referees Announce Deduction of Registration Fees

Nigeria Referees Association, NRA has commenced registration of its members for actions in the forth coming 2020/2021 Nigeria football league season, while announcing the deduction in registration fees to cushion the economic hardship invoked on the football industry by the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic.
According to a circular issued by NRA National Secretariat on Tuesday and signed by its Secretary General, Dr Suleiman Usman Omezia, directed all NRA state councils to conduct registration of referees on or before 31st December 2020.
The circular said “I am directed by the President of the Nigeria Football Referees Association (NRA) on behalf of the National Executive Committee to thank all the State Chairmen for their unflinching cooperation and understanding during the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic and the recent unrest nation-wide.
“It is worthy of note that the NCDC has lifted ban on contact sports and football inclusive, therefore the 2020/2021 football season is scheduled to start on the 5th December, 2020.
“Sequel to the above, it’s pertinent to inform all that 2020/2021 annual registration has commenced”
“State Councils are therefore enjoined to forward their registration according to society with evidence of payment to the Secretary General while a soft copy of same to the National Financial Secretary on or before 31st December, 2020.
“No late registration will be entertained. for further details contact the Secretary General, Dr Suleiman Omezia.”
“The President, Otunba Tade Azeez has graciously approved a reduction in this year annual registration to cushion the effect of COVID-19 challenges on the referees.”
