The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Itori, Ogun, has warned motorists against reckless overtaking and driving against traffic on the Itori-Ewekoro area on Abeokuta-Lagos Expressway.
The Itori Unit Commander of FRSC, Mr. Shamaki Yerima, gave the warning on Friday, in Ota, Ogun.
Yerima said the warning became necessary because of the temptation to violate traffic rules in portions of the road under rehabilitation.
According to him, some sections of the road had been diverted to facilitate the ongoing repairs, adding that the tendency was for motorists to take ‘one way’ in those diverted areas.

He called on motorists to be patient, particularly as traffic builds up as a result of the approaching festive period.
He urged motorists to always maintain stipulated speed limit to avoid accidents, adding that, “we enjoin them to avoid night traveling to reduce the rate of crashes on the roads”..
He also cautioned motorists against speeding and to avoid distractions such as use of mobile phones while driving. (NAN)
