Rivers: Twenty-five lawmakers hold meeting in assembly complex

Twenty-five members of the Rivers State Assembly, on Tuesday morning, held a sitting at the state Assembly Complex.

 

The members, who are loyalists of the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, were led by the assembly speaker, Martin Amaewhule during the sitting.

 

It was gathered that security at the complex was tighter during the sitting as up to four police vans were stationed at the entrance.

Some police officers were also said to have locked the entrance of the complex after the 25 members left.

 

The reason for the meeting is unknown as of the time of filing this report.

 

However, ThisNigeria learnt the lawmakers discussed the prosecution of the alleged arsonists of the assembly complex during the political crisis that rocked the state some weeks ago.
