Napoli manager, Luciano Spalletti says he hopes to turn club hitman, Victor Osimhen into a goal machine.
Spalletti, who spoke after Sunday’s Serie A win over Venezia admits that the Super Eagles forward is yet to reach his full potential.
Osimhen marked his return to the Partenopei starting eleven after over two months on the sidelines. The Nigerian star returned from a facial injury two weeks ago, but his last two appearances for Napoli have been as a substitute.
However, Spalletti reinstated Osimhen to spearhead his attack, and his decision paid off, as Osimhen scored the crucial opener against a stubborn Venezia, while Andrea Petagna scored the second to give Napoli a 2-0 victory and the former Roma and Inter Milan boss was thrilled with the result.

“Osimhen has the qualities and characteristics. It is we who have to improve in something to serve him,” Spalletti said.
“They don’t always go and dribble, we have to play the ball faster and put the defenders to go and defend on his qualities.”
“In the first half, we often played on the feet, we didn’t play much in the spaces.”
“If, on the other hand, before dribbling and forcing them to go down, you immediately hit the ball behind the central player, he goes to take advantage of his characteristics even if they are long balls.”
Napoli’s next clash is against Inter Milan, which could determine who goes top of the Serie A table.
