Polygamy: Reno Omokri throws weight behind Yul Edochie, states reason

Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri has said that Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie did nothing wrong by taking a second wife.
ThisNigeria reported that Edochie announced via Instagram on Wednesday that he had welcomed a son with his second wife and colleague, Judy Austin.
Mixed reactions had trailed the announcement, with some supporting the actor while most condemned him for his action.
Reacting to the drama, Omokri stated that polygamy is not a sin, adding that “the concept of monogamy was a Western construct.”
“In my opinion, @YulEdochie has done no wrong. Polygamy is not a sin. God Himself gave David many wives-2 Samuel 12:18. Polygamy is only forbidden for Bishops and elders in the church-1 Timothy 3:2. Monogamy is a Western construct, not a Christian one.
“Sadly, Black Africans accept this Western construct called monogamy, as a Christian one. This is why we are now tolerant of same-sex marriage and intolerant of polygamy. Meanwhile, God supports polygamy-2 Samuel 12:8, and gay marriage is abominable in His sight-Leviticus 18:22.

“I won’t counsel any man to marry more than one wife. However, polygamy is by far better than adultery and fornication. And while Scripture is clear that adultery and fornication are sinful, Scripture is CRYSTAL CLEAR that polygamy is permissible 2 Samuel 12:8.
“Polygamy is Scriptural-Exodus 21:10. It is hard for a single woman to satisfy the libido of a normal man. It is why we have a high rate of cheating in our society. Compare the rate of adultery in Europe and America, with that of Saudi Arabia and the point becomes clear,” he wrote on Twitter.
