Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State has again visited the Chief of Defence Staff, General Lucky Irabor in continuation of  consultation to bring lasting peace to the Northeast and sustenance of prevailing peace in Gombe state

Although the meeting took place behind closed doors, a press statement issued by the Director-General Press, Alhaji Ismaila Missilli, noted that the parley may not be unconnected with the  Governor’s sustained efforts and commitment to ensuring the sustenance of prevailing peace and security in Gombe State.

Recalled that the Governor was at the DHQ about two weeks ago where he expressed Gombe State’s readiness to continue to partner with the Nigerian Armed Forces as well as provide all necessary support in an effort to combat all forms of criminality and insecurity in parts of the country.

Missile added in the press bulletin that as a state in the North East, Gombe is the epicenter of the insurgency, harboring a lot of internally displaced persons from troubled insurgency-hit neighboring states and as well hosting the Nigerian Army’s de-radicalisation camp for repentant insurgents,  it was compelling that the Governor constantly engages with heads of various security agencies in order to maintain and safeguard the most cherished peace in his state.
