August 7 will be an exciting day for those whose worship requires meeting at their various centres of worship.
In a press briefing on COVID-19 at the Lagos State House, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu announced that mosques can resume their service on August 7 whiles churches can follow suit on the 9th.
However, he cautions that places of worship should operate at 50% capacity – once a week and provide thermometer guns and hand sanitizers. He also enjoined them to continue the practice of social distancing.
He also mentioned that schools should resume from August 3rd only for those in the exit classes while restaurants can open for those who desire to eat-in.

He further mentioned that the activities of all these places will be monitored as things progress in the ensuing weeks. He suggests that multiple services can be held on the same day but all activities should be restricted to one day a week. No vigils nor mid-week activities are encouraged. Also, citizens above 65 are encouraged to stay home.
