
In compliance with the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), the Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA, has fumigated all secondary schools, provided nose masks, hand sanitizers and infrared thermometers in preparation for resumption by JS3 and SS3 students in the Federal Capital Territory.
It was gathered from a statement made by Malam Musa Kabiru, The Public Relations Officer who represented Alhaji Yahaya Muhammad, FCT Secondary Education Board at the Secretariat in Abuja on Monday.
In agreement with the Nigerian Centre for Disease and Control (NCDC), Alhaji Muhammad said they are working in accordance to NCDC’s guidelines before schools are reopened as the protocols set by the PTF – Presidential Task Force on COVID-19.
He also mentioned that the Quality Assurance department in the State Secretariat will monitor schools for compliance before they are allowed to resume. Muhammad also explained that some rooms have been set aside for isolation in schools as well as clinics.
He urged principals and appointed representatives of the FCTA to ensure that students follow the rules on social distancing, regular hand washing and use of face mask.
He says that this is in line with the guidelines for resumption as set forth by the NCDC.
