Dozens arrested in anti-Mafia raids in Italy

Italy’s anti-Mafia units said it had arrested dozens of suspected criminals for drug trafficking offenses in several operations targeting criminal gangs across the country.

Investigators caught 51 suspects in the metropolitan area of Rome and other locations on Tuesday.

They were allegedly trafficking drugs out of the Tor Bella Monaca area in the southeast of the capital.

Meanwhile, the financial policy of the city of Pavia in the northern region of Lombardy reported 15 arrests or other measures in several cities.

The focus was on criminal gangs from the Milan area who were involved in cocaine trafficking via Peru.

They were said to have links to the Mafia organisation ‘Ndrangheta.

In addition, according to the report, investigators carried out raids for drug trafficking in Turin, and Piedmont, and Ancona in the Marche region and Cagliari in Sardinia.

Nine arrests were made in those operations totally.
