Kanu: Biafra group dares FG

A pro-Biafra group, Biafra Nations League (BNL), has sent a ‘serious warning’ to the Federal Government over the continued detention of the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

The group, while also warning courts, also said the long detention of ‘Biafrans’ in various prisons and custody across the country ‘must end immediately’. BNL said it would not tolerate the government and law institutions in the country using long adjournments to frustrate Biafrans.

Its deputy leader, Ebuta Takon, said this when he addressed reporters in Ikom, Cross River State, on Monday, in reaction to the April 14 adjournment of the trial of Kanu.

The secessionist group warned that the court should not allow itself to be used as an agent of intimidation to citizens, being the last hope of the common man. “Justice delayed is justice denied.

They’re delaying because they’re in control of every court. Keeping our people in detention to suffer and frustrate them, we will not allow that,” he said.

The group added, “We’ll come up with a strategy that will be a big problem to them, and they won’t know how to go about it.” BNL further boasted that the kanu challenge was fast becoming a challenge in the Gulf of Guinea, and a threat to doing business in the area.

It also boasted of directly controlling some militant groups, among which are the ‘Black Marine’, in the Bakassi Peninsula.

IPOB leader, Kanu, is facing terrorism charges before the Justice Binta Nyako-led Abuja Federal High Court.
