Misconduct: A lot of Nigerian judges are not fit, Sowore tells NJC

A former presidential candidate and Human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore has informed the National Judicial Council that a lot of Nigerian judges are not fit to remain in their office.

Sowore was reacting to the suspension of Justice Jane E. Inyang of the Court of Appeal, Uyo Division; Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court, Abuja Division, and Justice Aminu Baffa Aliyu of the Federal High Court in Zamfara State by the NJC over misconduct.

In a post he shared on Facebook, Sowore said, “There are numerous judges in Nigeria, particularly at the Federal High Court in Abuja, who are unfit to administer justice. The unfortunate reality is that they have caused irreparable damage to the justice system. Justice Inyang Ekwo was the judge utilized by Gov. (Now FCT Minister) Nyesom Wike in 2019 to hijack our party, the AAC. He’s brazen about his corruption. It took us three years to reclaim the party through the exceptional legal expertise of Inibehe Effiong.“
