Danjuma invites 31 Falconets for Congo

Head Coach of Nigeria U-20 Women’s national team, Falconets, Christopher Danjuma yesterday invited 31 players to camp ahead of the Women’s World Cup third round fixtures against Congo.

Falconets will play guest in the first leg in Brazzaville on 5th December but will host the Congolese in the return leg on 16th December at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Lagos.

Leading the list of the invited players to camp is Mercy Idoko, who was goal heroine in the second round fixtures against the Central Africa Republic and alongside forward, Chinyere Kalu.

The Falconets blitzed past their counterparts from Central African Republic 11-0 on aggregate in the second round, while the Congolese saw off Egypt’s U20 girls 3-1 on aggregate. The girls from Central African Republic progressed to the second round following the withdrawal of Equatorial Guinea.

Others invited include Jumoke Anani, Paulina Ali, Motunrayo Ezekiel, Omowunmi Oshobukola, Oluchi Ohaegbulem, Oluwabunmi Oladeji, Chidinma Ogbuchi, Blessing Sunday, Oluwatosin Demehin, Deborah Abiodun, Basirat Amoo, Esther Onyenezide, Rafiat Imuran, Yina Adoo and Celine Attah.

Also on the list are, Blessing Okpe, Christiana Uzoma, Nelly Eke, Iyems Etim, Monle Omini, Mary Aderemi, Amarachi Odoma, Juliet Adebowale, Joy Jerry, Adaobi Udoka, Flourish Sebastine, Joy Omewa, Taiwo Lawal and Precious Vincent.

All 31 players have been asked to report at the Serob Hotel in the Wuye district of Abuja on Sunday, 7th November with their training kits, international e-passports and certificates of birth. However, four players of Rivers Angels FC of Port Harcourt that is taking part in the maiden edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League holding in Egypt 5th – 19th November, have been excused to report in camp after their engagement in North Africa. Two overseas–based players are also expected in camp towards the end of the month.
