A Federal High Court in Abuja has placed on hold, the Edo LGA elections scheduled to hold September 2nd, 2023.
It also ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Edo State Independent Electoral Commission, and the state government to appear before to give reasons why the polls should hold.
The All Progressives had filed a suit, with no FHC/Abuja/CS/1136/2023, seeking for an interlocutory injunction on the election.
Delivering its judgement, the court ordered the defendants which include INEC, EDSIEC and the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice of Edo State to appear before it on the 6th of September 2023.
