The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPoB) has described as ranting and laughable, a statement credited to one Chief CBN Onwuanasoanya Ezendigbo, allegedly claiming that Nnamdi Kanu and the secessionist group has done more harm than good to the South-East in the name of Biafra agitation.
IPOB’s spokesman, Emma Powerful, said in a statement yesterday that the group cannot blame Onwuanasoanya as an alleged political jobber looking for favour from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) government in the country.
Powerful said, “Chief Onwuasoanya Ezendigbo, a man barely known in his village, has suddenly turned into a former presidential candidate because he printed posters as one just to seek a political appointment.
“We don’t blame Chief Onwuanasoanya because he is allegedly a sycophant and political jobber looking for favours from the APC and the Tinubu government. IPoB is a peaceful movement seeking Biafra’s independence and sovereignty through a referendum, and the hired political conspirators in Abuja know that their accusations against IPoB are not true.”

According to IPOB, “He (Onwuanasoanya) called IPoB agitation an online Biafra, yet he claimed that the same online Biafra is harming the economy of the South-East. This kind of man is among the political stooges from our land in the hands of the Nigerian government, and a few criminals piloting the fake government against the emancipation of Biafrans.”
The group stated that, without the IPoB, ESN, and Mazi Nnamdi Okwuchukwu Kanu, “he would have become a stranger in his father’s land”.
“The only good thing that has happened to Igboland today is IPoB, ESN, and Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, not minding that the likes of Onwuasoanya and his fellow criminals created and sponsored insecurity in the South-East just to blackmail and demonise IPoB for launching the ESN a vigilante outfit that frustrated the Fulani agenda.”
“Chief Onwuasoanya Ezendigbo and his fellow sycophants have claimed ignorance of repeated press releases from IPoB and ESN disassociating the movement, and the outfit from the so-called unknown gunmen. IPoB has maintained that we don’t know the unknown gunmen, and we are not the unknown gunmen.”
IPoB further stated, “The Nigerian Government, through the DSS, allegedly recruited and created these infiltrators and criminals. The saboteurs called unknown gunmen to disparage ESN and Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. And they have failed. And that is why they are crying.
“In a similar vein, Mazi Uche Odoputa, the Nollywood actor accusing and mentioning IPoB and ESN of being behind his father’s kidnap, is abominable and his father was kidnapped and killed by criminals and cultists in his community.
“ESN Operatives don’t indulge in kidnapping and criminalities. His father was kidnapped last year and ESN operatives and IPoB volunteers volunteered and contributed in no small measure in searching for the innocent man, but it was unfortunate that the man was kidnapped by his own enemies in the village at Ihitenansa in Orsuihiteukwa in Orsu Local Government Area.”
IPOB said, “We are surprised to hear from Uche Odoputa that ESN operatives were involved and behind his father’s predicaments. We want to make it categorically clear to Mazi Uche Odoputa that ESN and IPoB volunteers don’t participate in kidnapping, snatching of cars, or killing of our people. Our main objective is to restore Biafra sovereignty, not to humiliate Biafrans.”
It said that the intelligent questions people should ask the Nigerian government are: How can the so-called unknown gunmen be operating in the East for the past five years, and the Federal Government, with all her security architecture and intel, has not been able to unmask the unknown gunmen?
