Insecurity: Joe Igbokwe demands apology from kinsmen over name-calling

A chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Joe Igbokwe, has called on his kinsmen to tender an apology to him over the way he was treated when he raised an alarm on the deadly activities of some gunmen in South East, Nigeria.

In a post he made on his Facebook page on Monday, Igbokwe noted that he was verbally bashed for standing against the activities of those gunmen when they started in 2020.

“I’m still waiting for my kinsmen who called me unprintable names like Joe Yorubakwe, Joe Hausakwe, Efulefu, Saboteur, Betrayer, bootlicker, etc when I was raising alarms on the tragic happenings in the SE to apologize now given the atrocities, killing of our people in their hundreds in the South East since 2020.

“We may not the number of casualties now because the families were told to maintain grave silence or they will come back to kill all the family members. Governor Soludo set up a 30-man Committee to investigate what happened between 2020 to 2025. The report is damning and unbelievable,” he said.

Furthermore, the politician expressed gratitude to God for exposing the activities of the gunmen, saying, “I thank God Almighty for all the discoveries being witnessed now, especially in Anambra. I am waiting for Enugu, Ebonyi, Imo and Abia to rise up to the challenge to tell their own side of the story. The world will be shocked to the marrows. Even the stones, trees, sun, moon, stars. Grass and sands will speak.”
