Nollywood death toll: AGN partners Jerry Eze for national prayer

The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has partnered with popular televangelist, Jerry Eze for national prayer for Nollywood over the incessant death of thespians.
This decision was reached following the death of two actors on a movie set in Owerri, the Imo State capital.
It was reported earlier that four actors were rushed to the Federal University Teaching Hospital Owerri after consuming a drink given to them by a movie producer they were working with.
Two of the victims were confirmed dead on arrival.
Reacting, Emeka Rollas, the president of AGN, raised concerns, noting that the devil wants a repeat of death tolls in the acting industry of the country.
Although the victims were not members of the association, Rollas called for national prayers with pastor Jerry Eze.
He said in a post made on his Instagram page, “Barely a week after the memorial service of the late Junior Pope our member, tragedy struck in Owerri involving two promising actors.
“They are not members of the AGN but this points to two things. The devil still wants this pattern of mass death repeated on an annual basis.
“If not for God the Owerri death toll could have been four persons. Exactly the same number last year in Asaba. Please let all actors and indeed Nollywood prepare for this year’s prayer outing with pastor Jerry Eze.”
