Seven members of a family in Abia state have passed away after allegedly consuming barbecued meat popularly known as suya.
According to reports, the unfortunate incident occurred in Umueze Umuakanu Umuahia North Local Government Area of the state.
It was gathered that the father identified as Mr Jessey bought the suya with juice for the family.

Jessey’s family members, including extended family members who were visiting, joined to eat the suya, after which they started throwing up.
However, his wife, Mrs Ogba Jessey, and his son survived.
The survivors are currently receiving treatment at Federal Medical Centre Umuahia.
