Organizers of the ongoing Super 8 in Enugu, The Nigeria National League (NNL) have dismissed as the frivolous, allegation that they are favoring a particular club.
NNL’s media officer, Amar Ignis in a statement said all the eight clubs in Enugu are enjoying a level playing field.
“The report about match-fixing is, to say the least frivolous. There is no truth in the report. All the clubs are enjoying a level playing field and officiating so far has been near perfect,” Amar stated.
He stressed that NNL’s only interest is to see the best four teams gain promotion to the elite division of the nation’s domestic league.
“We are in Enugu to ensure that the best four teams qualify for the NPFL. Those peddling allegations of match-fixing are only being mischievous,” Amar insisted.
Meanwhile, Bendel Insurance on their part stated that it is simply wicked for anybody to accuse the club of not playing by the rule.
