EndSARS: Embrace Dialogue Police Caution Youths.

The ,Kano state police command have cautioned youths to embrace dialogue in addressing their demands,  as against embarking on violent protest under the guise of  EndSARS.

The state commissioner of police, Habu Ahmadu Sani(Psc+) in his remarks at a one  day summit on  Peace and Security organized by The Nigerian Youths parliament in Kano, on Saturday frowned at the use of violence to project their demands of the youths.

He said the people reserve the rights to express their grievances, however those grievances could be forwarded through dialogue without resorting to the outright breakdown of law and order.

CP Habu stated that the breach of public peace does not represent the civilized method through which public complaints should be channeled to relevant authorities.

He revealed that the state command adopted community policing strategy to stem the havoc invoked by of the EndSARS protest from spreading into the ancient city of Kano.

The police boss represented by ACP Uzairu Ibrahim said “what happened two to three weeks ago when there was EndSARS protest across the country, it was different in Kano due to our good relationship with the communities.

“It also most happened here in Kano, but because we have a relationship with the traditional rulers, the market leaders, the academicians, artisans, CSO’s and other critical stakeholders, we were able to control the situation and no single shot was fired to disperse the people that gathered.”

“I call on our youths to be law abiding nobody is saying you cannot express your feelings but when you want to express your feelings follow due process and ensure you express your feelings according to the law.

Quizzed on the preparedness of the command to further control developments, following the resurrection of the EndSARS protest in Abuja, the police honcho said “We assure the good people of Kano state that the command is ready for dialogue with the youths, to ensure that there is no breach of peace and no breakdown of law and order in Kano state.

The state commissioner of Youths and Sports, comrade Kabiru Ado Lakwaya in his opening remarks urged Nigeria youths to seek dialogue in finding lasting resolution to conflicts.

He disclosed Kano state adopted ADR mechanism to curtail the EndSARS protest from wreaking havoc on socio economic activities in the state, throughout while the protest lasted in some  parts of the country..

“During the EndSARS protest across the country, Kano organized workshop at the Coronation hall inside Kano Government House on dialogue and peace building that is why Kano youths embraced peace.”Lakwaya stated.
