7 Persons Docked For Abduction of Children.

Kano state Attorney General and commissioner of justice, Barrister Musa Abdullahi Lawan on Friday arraigned 7 persons before a Kano high court sitting at Miller road , to respond to the allegations of acts of criminal conspiracy and abduction of nine under age children.
The prosecution told the court that the defendants abducted the children from the lawful custody of their parents from various parts of the ancient city and sold the victims to one Ebere Ogbono a resident of Onitsha in Anambra state, South East Nigeria.
According to the charge sheet, the defendants were arraigned to respond to 38 count charges, adding that the defendants also acted contrary to the provisions of sections 97, 273,and 277 of the penal code law.
The prosecution further alleged that the defendants acted contrary to the provisions of Kano state Children and Young Persons law.
The first defendant, Paul Owne told the court that all the allegations levied against him were true, he pleaded with court for leniency.
The other defendants, namely Ebere Ogbono, Louse Duru, Monica Oracha, and Chinelo Etedegwu denied the charges slammed against the defendants before the court.
The prosecution citing the provisions of section 365 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Law ACJL urge the court to conduct a summary trial of the first defendant.
The presiding judge, justice Zuwaira Yusuf in her ruling ordered the matter adjourned to December 27th for the summary trial of Paul Owne. The court also fixed same date for the hearing of the applications filed by the other defendants.
According to the court records, the names of the abducted children are Sagir Haruna ,4 years old, Husaina Salisu 6 years old, Usman Muhammad 6 years old. Aisha Muhammad 7years old and Faruk Ibrahim 5 years old.
