A chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party Chief Mike Usibe says there is no fear over direct primaries for future elections in Nigeria.
The PDP Chieftain made this known in Ogoja in Northern Cross River State while speaking on the planned adoption of direct primaries by the national assembly.
Usibe who is also aspiring for the Ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency Seat said the plan will ensure that popular candidates win elections in the country.
Usibe said, “If direct primaries are adopted it will ensure that the candidate that is very popular will win the elections.

“There is no fear over direct primaries, let the people choose who they desire.
“If the people say this is who we want then that’s the will of God and we will stand by it”, Usibe said.
Speaking on his agenda for his Constituency he said his vision is to build bridges and affect humanity.
“My vision is to build bridges, cement the differences in our various ethnic groups and ensure we are formidable together.
“I also wish to affect humanity, touch the less privileged and also improve the livelihood of people”, he said.
The former chairman of Yala LGA and Chairman of chairmen expressed confidence of the success of the party in the upcoming elections maintaining that the PDP has kept in touch with the people and Cross River North is predominantly PDP.
