The Emir of Suleja, Malam Auwal Ibrahim, on Thursday pleaded with the people of the state to support the police with reliable information as instrument for fighting banditry, kidnapping and cattle rustling in the state.
The emir made the call on Thursday at his palace in an interview in Suleja.
He said that reliable and credible information on movement of suspected criminals in the society would pave way to crush those terrorising innocent residents.
He explained that already the emirate had reached out to stakeholders to support security personnel with require intelligence information.
“We have reached out to district and wards heads to mobilise residents on the need to volunteer reliable information about dubious character in their midst.
“That is why we appeal to stakeholders to do more in mobilising residents to be security conscious by reporting bad elements in their midst”, he said.
The emir observed that all forms of criminal activities would stop if residents could volunteer credible information to the police on suspicious development.
He said that it was only by so doing that the present security challenges would be tackled once and for all.
He lauded the commitment demonstrated by President Mohammadu Buhari in the ongoing fight against banditry, kidnapping and insurgency.
He also said that the provisions of modern working security facilities to the security agencies would aid dealing with the insurgents and other criminal elements in the country.
