Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun has enforced the order of an Appeal Court on a traditional ruler in the state, Oba Nojeem Alani Aromaye the Oniro of Iro, in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of the state.
This followed the judgment of Court of Appeal, which restrained the monarch from parading himself as well as ordered retrial of the case at the High Court.
A letter to this effect dated December 4, 2020 and signed by the director of chieftaincy affairs in the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Adesoji Adewuyi also directed the Egba Traditional Council to stop payment of any stipend to the embattled traditional ruler.
‘’I have the directive of the Hon. Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftain Affairs to direct the Egba Traditional Council to enforce the order of court restraining Oba Nojeemdeen Alani Aromaye from parading himself as the Oniro of Iro by withdrawing the stipends due to him pending the final determination of the litigation in the high court.
‘’The stipend should however be kept in a secured account until further directive of the ministry is given thereon’ ’the letter stated.
