The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has expressed deep sorrow over the aircraft crash in Ondo State, which claimed the lives of personnel of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) and others.
The Chairman of NDLEA, retired Brig.-Gen. Buba Marwa, conveyed the agency’s condolences in a letter addressed to the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke.
The condolence letter was signed by Mr Femi Babafemi, NDLEA Director, Media and Advocacy, at the agency’s headquarters in Abuja, on Wednesday.
Marwa expressed the agency’s heartfelt sympathies to the leadership, officers, men and women of the NAF, as well as families of the personnel who lost their lives in the crash.
He described the incident as devastating, saying the news was received by the agency with profound grief.
The NDLEA boss commended the NAF for its consistent demonstration of patriotism, gallantry and unwavering commitment to the defence and security of the nation.
According to him, the loss of officers who dedicated their lives to national service is a terrible blow, not only to the Nigerian Air Force but also to the country and the entire national security community.
“In this moment of deep sorrow, our thoughts and prayers are with the grieving families of the fallen heroes, as well as the entire NAF family,” Marwa said.
He prayed that Almighty God would comfort the bereaved families, strengthen the Nigerian Air Force and grant the departed eternal rest.
Marwa also assured the NAF of the warm regards and solidarity of the entire NDLEA family, including its officers, men and women, as the Air Force and the bereaved families go through the difficult period.(NAN)
