Two personnel of the Bauchi Custodial Centre have sustained injuries following an attempted jailbreak on Friday.

According to reports, five inmates were also injured in the incident that occurred about 12pm.

Spokesman of Bauchi Command of the Nigerian Correctional Service, Abubakar Adam also confirmed the incident and said the situation had been brought under control.

Adam stated further that the inmates have been put back into their respective cells.

“It was a copycat situation. There were some inmates that learnt of what happened in Imo state that wanted to do the same thing down here but the situation has been brought under control, “he said.
