Lagos Reps Caucus Condemn Attack on Oba, Destruction of Govt, Private Properties

…Say attack on monarch sacriligeous, invasion of the people’s heritage

Members of the House of Representatives  from Lagos State have condemned recent attacks on Government properties and invasion of the palace of the Oba of Lagos, urging the youths to stop  the protest since their legitimate request was being addressed

The lawmakers who addressed the media on the continuous attack on government properties and private businesses in the state said it was expedient to stop further attacks because their actions have been hijacked by those with ulterior motives and intentions using the social media  to aggravate the already fragile environment

The caucus particularly condemned invasion of the Lagos Oba’ s palace which is sacrilegeous and an attack on the cultural heritage of the people, as well as destruction of over 100 BRT buses, fire stations , council secretariats among others

According to the group whose address was read  by Honorable Dolapo Badru, leader of the caucus,  it aligns itself with agitation for good governance and the position of the House that victims be compensated and judicial panels set up in all the states, while they further tasked the youths to support the governor to restore peace
