A 17-year old boy identified as Aliyu Danjuma from Katsina State has been arrested by night guards at Omisanjana area of Ado Ekiti for allegedly vandalizing the transformer serving the area.
The suspect was said to have been caught at the site of a transformer while removing some cables.
Some residents of the area alleged that the transformer was vandalized twice last year which made the community experience four months of a power outage before they contributed money to repair it.
Residents claimed that they decided to hire night guards purposely to secure the transformer.

Danjuma was arrested with a saw and other items he used to cut some cables in the transformer.
According to a video that has gone viral, the suspected vandal had been beaten into a state of coma before he was handed to security operatives for interrogations.
