Nigerians demand EFCC probe of Bola Tinubu

Within 24hours of a call for the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC to investigate the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the petition has received over 10, 000 signatures.
The petition arises because, on the eve of the 2019 elections, a drone showed bullion vans ferrying suspected monies into Tinubu’s Bourdilon residence.
In an interview on Channels Television, Tinubu was asked about the contents of the bullion van. He replied, “Is it my money or government money? I don’t work for the government, even if I have money to spend on my premises, what’s your headache?”
Quoting the Money Laundering Prohibition Act 2011, Reno Omokri said: “18 months after this incident, Mr Tinubu has not been investigated by the EFCC, which has tried others for lesser malfeasances.”
Chief Mike Ozekhome, a frontline human rights lawyer, made a similar call, insisting that Nigerians have the right to demand that the EFCC investigate the bullion vans sighted in Tinubu’s residence last year.
