Bauchi agency to enrol private clinics on drugs revolving fund

The Bauchi State Drugs and Medical Consumable Agency (DMMA), says it has concluded plans to enroll private clinics on the Drugs Revolving Fund (DFR) Scheme in the state.
Mr. Abdulkadir Ahmed, Managing Director of the agency, stated this in an interview with newsmen on Thursday in Bauchi.
Ahmed said the agency had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with some pharmaceuticals and manufacturing companies to ensure an upfront supply of the commodities.
Ahmed said the agency has an N24 million opening stock with 234 facilities enrolled on the scheme, adding that it recorded an N120 million turnover in 2021.
The agency, he said, would establish additional operational stores in Ningi and Katagum Local Government Areas.
Ahmed said that data monitoring tools had been evolved to promote accountability and transparency in its operations.
He said the agency was targeting about N350 million turnover this year, as against N120 million recorded in 2021.
The manager said the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) had provided medical supplies to the agency aimed at improving Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health (MNCH) services in the state.

Statistics of the Bauchi State Primary Healthcare Development Agency indicated that 323 primary health centers had been enrolled in the scheme in the state.
While plans had reached an advanced stage to enroll about 1,000 clinics to enhance access to affordable quality healthcare services in the state.
