Wike confers Abuja citizenship on Senegalese President Faye

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, on Thursday conferred the honorary citizenship of Abuja on the President of Senegal, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, when he received the nation’s leader.
Recall that Faye is in Nigeria on an official visit to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Wike welcomed the Senegalese President on his arrival at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on behalf of President Tinubu.
Wike disclosed that the latest citizen of Abuja enjoys all the rights and privileges of a citizen in the FCT.

Also, the former Rivers governor stressed that the act will further strengthen the friendship and cordial relationship between Nigeria and Senegal.
Earlier, Faye met with President Tinubu, who serves as the chairman of the Authority of Heads of State and Government of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
His visit to Nigeria on Thursday was a historic moment as it t marked his first visit to Nigeria since he assumed office as the youngest president in Senegalese history in April.
