APC chieftain salutes Uzodimma, winners for peaceful congress

Chief Elvis Agukwe, a chieftain of APC in Imo, on Sunday congratulated Gov. Hope Uzodimma, Chief Macdonald Ebere and other winners in the just conducted state Congress of the party.

Agukwe told newsmen in Abuja that the peaceful conduct of the congress was a testimony of Uzodimma’s enviable leadership qualities.

He congratulated Chief Macdonald Ebere, the newly elected state Chairman, on his emergence, and tasked him to take the party to greater heights.

“I salute the Governor for exemplary leadership. I thank him for putting the party together.

“To those who emerged, I wish them congratulations while hoping that they go ahead to reposition and reenergize the party.

“Imo is one and APC is one. I also congratulate APC faithful’s on their resolve to be loyal and patriotic; Imo is the ultimate winner in all these,” he said.

Agukwe who expressed confidence in the capacity of APC-led administration to rescue the country from the doldrums of economic and political instability, said the congress had brought to an end the unnecessary power tussle in Imo APC.

“Party is run like a bank. Once a policy decision is taken by headquarters, it is binding on other branches.

“As a former Research head of PDP and now an APC chieftain, I know that the governor is in charge of the party as leader.”

He stressed that: “The emergence of Dr MacDonald Ebere and other members of the APC as state Chairman and executives is a welcome development.”

The APC held its state congresses across the nation on Saturday.
