The Germany team is not planning a renewed protest against Qatar before Thursday’s 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Liechtenstein.
In March, immediately before the start of the World Cup qualifiers against Iceland, Romania, and North Macedonia, the German team showed its support for human rights with various actions.
Such actions included wearing special T-shirts.
2022 World Cup hosts Qatar have been criticized for their treatment of migrant workers building the stadiums and infrastructure for the tournament.
The German football federation (DFB) however knows of no planned protest at the qualifiers resuming this week.
“This does not mean that the team does not stand for what has been documented,” DFB spokesperson Jens Grittner said on Wednesday.

“These are messages that always apply.”
The Germany captain will also no longer wear an armband with rainbow colours.
Manuel Neuer did so during the European Championship in June as it coincided with Pride month.
Neuer is injured for Thursday’s game in St. Gallen, Switzerland and a new captain has yet to be announced.
“The commitment expressed with the armband still applies,” Grittner said.
