The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Igyorov Ward of Gboko Local Government Area of Benue State has announced the suspension the National Chairman of the party, Iyorchia Ayu, with immediate effect.
A letter issued to that effect stated that Ayu was suspended for alleged anti-party activities.
The PDP chairman was also accused of contributing to the loss of the party in his ward and local government in the March 18 governorship election.
It was alleged that the PDP chieftain did not vote during the governorship and state assembly elections, adding that Ayu and his allies allegedly worked for the All Progressives Congress (APC) during the election.
