The present economic situation in the country has hampered the ability of state governments to fund their security agencies.
As such, it becomes necessary for the Federal Government to bankroll them.
This was made clear during a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari as they looked for assistance in the form of security bailout to bear the funding of security initiatives such as Amotekun and Forest Guards.
The request for the security bailout is said to be a collective request by the Nigerian Governors’ Forum.
