Stakeholders of the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) drawn from all the wards in the Njikoka-Dunukofia-Anaocha Federal Constituency of Anambra State on Wednesday endorsed former Commissioner for Economic Planning, Mr. Mark Okoye, as their choice for House of Representatives seat at the National Assembly come 2023 elections.
The people were made up of all the APGA chairmen across the wards in the three LGAs, youth and women leaders, party secretaries, and party’s local government working for committees.
This is the APGA House of Representatives aspirant Mark Okoye faulted the persistclamormour against the marginalization of any section of the country or state, pointing out that lack of appointment or election of fit and proper as well as perfect persons or representatives, remains the bane of the people and the polity.
Speaking during a consultative meeting to present the National Assembly aspirant held at the Njikoka council headquarters at Abagana, they unanimously endorsed Mr. Okoye for his reach, industry, and commitment to ensuring the welfare and development of the various communities and towns.
The Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Sir Solo Chukwulobe described the House of Representatives aspirant as a charismatic politician with versed knowledge and wisdom in the service of the state and the people, adding that as a young man with eyes for a better and bright future would not disappoint the federal constituency.

He noted that Mark Okoye as a sizzling and focused young man had served the state diligently in various capacities during hay days of former Governors Peter Obi, Chief Willie Obiano and the then Vision 2070 committee of Professor Charles Soludo, and other bodies that have helped to fashion the path to repositioning the state till the emergence of the present APGA led administration under Soludo.
He urged the people to rally around him and support his ambition towards attracting core dividends of democracy to the Federal constituency and by extension for a greater Anambra State.
According to the SSG, “Our mission here is to inform Njikoka people that the situation in Nigeria demands that those will to serve will be carefully selected for effective representation. Mark Okoye is a young person and he had told me that he wants to go to the House of Representatives and he is well-positioned for the job at the center and has been aware of the political dynamics of the country, he earns and desires our massive support because he is the people’s choice as a humble politician.”

“We have come to plead with Njikoka people to support him to win the APGA primaries. He has done well and he deserves an automatic ticket. He was 29 years old when former Governor Willie Obiano appointed him the Commissioner for Economic Planning. He had also worked as the SSA to ex-Governor Obi and other sensitive positions in government. When a child washes his hands clean to dines and wines with the elders.”
He added that “My identification with Mark is because of his outstanding performances and intelligence even as a young man. Help us to spread the good message of effective representation.
Also, the chairman of APGA in the Njikoka local government area Chief Charles Okongwu stressed the need for collective efforts to ensure Okoye at both the wards, LGAs, and state levels emerges as the party’s candidate during the party primaries a win-win at the polls.
Okongwu called for massive sensitization and mobilization of the electorate to have their PVCs and to cast their votes for Mark Okoye as the party’s choice for the job at the Green Chamber next year.
Okoye assures the people that he would not disappoint them having learned the proper ropes and climbed the ladder that leads to realizing their dreams and expectations.
Okoye said that he had garnered the rudimentary experience following the years of service in previous governments and therefore cannot afford to fail the people if elected at the party’s primaries and during the actual polls.
According to him, if you don’t know how federal structure works you will remain there doing constituency projects, constituency projects of N200million a year cannot go anywhere in a population of over 1.5m across a federal constituency. We have to see how we can get more to attract more projects, get more World Bank Loan, USAID and European Union in this constituency.”
