Residents of Ajuwon area of Iju-Ishaga in Lagos State have reportedly suffered a gas explosion.
Nosa Okunbor, spokesperson for Lagos State Emergency Agency (LASEMA), confirmed the incident that a gas tanker blew up on Thursday afternoon.
Surrounding buildings in a 10-metre radius have been affected by the resulting tremors. Some buildings have reportedly collapsed due to the tremors while some other buildings caught fire.
Okunbor has appealed to residents to stay calm.
He confirmed that LASEMA Response Team has been deployed to the Elliot area, at the scene of the explosion.
