The United Bank for Africa Plc (UBA) has launched the fifth edition of its Supersavers Promo, a nine-month financial empowerment campaign designed to deepen savings culture, boost financial independence, and bring millions of Nigerians into the formal banking system.

Tagged the “Season of Progress,” the promo will run from September 1, 2025, to May 31, 2026, rewarding both new and existing customers across diverse account categories, including Kiddies, Teens, NextGen, Bumper, and individual savings accounts.

At the official unveiling held at the UBA House, Marina, Lagos, Group Deputy Managing Director, Chukwuma Nweke, said the initiative reflects the bank’s philosophy of driving nation-building through disciplined savings.

“Savings empower families and individuals to take control of their future, whether through children’s education, home ownership, or business creation. This campaign is UBA’s way of bridging gaps, breaking poverty cycles, and building stronger communities,” Nweke stressed.

The promo features star quarterly prizes of N1 million for 27 winners, alongside hundreds of other cash gifts ranging from N500,000 to N10,000, as well as airtime and cluster-specific rewards. Dormant account holders can also benefit by reactivating with just N10,000, qualifying for special monthly draws worth N35,000.

UBA’s Group Head, Retail and Digital Banking, Shamsideen Fashola, highlighted the bank’s five-year consistency in rewarding savers:

“Last year alone, in celebration of our 75th anniversary, we gave out nearly N150 million in prizes. This year’s edition is even more ambitious, covering more Nigerians while attracting new savers into the UBA family.”

In addition, UBA has introduced digital onboarding technology, enabling prospective customers to open accounts in real time without visiting a branch, an innovation the bank says will democratize access to financial services nationwide.

Group Head, Marketing and Corporate Communications, Alero Ladipo, underscored the bank’s long-term vision:

“We still have significant ground to cover in empowering Nigerians financially. This promotion is more than prizes—it is a tool to improve financial independence and introduce citizens to safe, secure, and innovative banking solutions at global standards.”

To ensure fairness and transparency, all draws will be conducted live with oversight from regulators, while nationwide activations will take place in markets, campuses, and rural communities across Nigeria.
