Saheed Osupa drops charges against Portable

Veteran Fuji musician, Akorede Saheed, aka Saheed Osupa has dropped the defamation charges against controversial singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable.
The development was made known by Human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore, in a post he made on his Facebook on Tuesday.
The politician disclosed that the decision was reached at a meeting he had with Saheed Osupa over Portable’s continuous incarceration.
He wrote, “Today, I had an extended discussion with King Saheed Osupa Akorede highlighting that the Nigeria Police Force has no right to criminalize civil disputes.
“He explained that his use of the police was intended to show his non-involvement in any actions that could harm Portable, but acknowledged that his actions might be seen as using the police for repression.
“As a result, he declared that he had dropped the charges against Portable, which had led to his incarceration at a prison in Ilorin due to his inability to fulfill bail requirements.”
Recall that Portable on Monday failed to meet bail conditions imposed by an Upper Area Court in Kwara State in his alleged defamation case.
Following his failure to meet the stringent condition, the ‘Zazoo’ crooner was remanded in the Oke Kura Correctional Centre in Ilorin, the state capital.
