#EndSARS: Farmer Shot and Killed in Edo

Suspected #EndSARS protesters chanting on Tuesday shot and killed a farmer, Mr. Saturday Idehen in Okhun Village, Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State.
The victim was hit by a stray bullet from gun wielding youths in the village who heard that one of their dreaded friends escaped from the Nigerian Correctional Centre in Benin City
The youths took to flight after the tragedy but luck however ran out of one of them Mr. Felix Ijesuroro who was apprehended by some residents.
The traumatised widow of the deceased, Mrs. Blessing Idehen, wept uncontrollably when she heard that her husband had died.
Speaking on his role in the incident, Mr. Felix Ijesurobo said that the victim was hit by a stray bullet from members of #EndSARS who fired sporadic gunshots after blocking the road in the area.
“We called him to join us to take some tools that blocked the road, but unfortunately bullet hit him and he died”, he said.
Efforts to obtain comments from the spokesman of the Nigeria police, Edo State Command, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, was not successful as his phone line rang out.
But a security source said that the alleged murderer is already in police custody with some others who were involved in the fracas.
