Yuletide: Women journalists urge Nigerians to remember, ” The Poorest of The Poor”.

Women journalists under the aegis of Nigeria Association of Women Journalists , NAWJ has urged Nigerians to extend yuletide gestures to the poorest of the poor as parts of activities to mark the 2020 yuletide season.
According to a statement signed by the chairperson of the group, Bilkisu Ado Zango which was made available to journalists, Thursday morning in Kano, she urged Nigerians to pray for peace and stability to reign in the country.
Zango said, “Nigerians should use the Christmas and New year holidays to extend our hands to the poor and needy in the society. Nigerians and members of NAWOJ should pray for the country to overcome it’s insecurity challenges among other issues bedeviling the country.
“As we celebrate Christmas and New year amid the second wave of COVID-19 which is ravaging many countries and Nigeria is not left behind , there is a need to adhere strictly to Covid-19 protocols and guidelines including maintaining social distancing, using face masks, observing regular hand washing and use hand sanitizers at all times is strongly advised.
“Members of the pubic who are travelling should stay safe by avoid ing reckless driving and be security conscious , I call on parents / guardians to caution their children/ wards to be of good character during the celebrations.” Bilkisu stated.
