CBN Tennis Championship: Men’s top seed, Abua Canice zooms into quarter finals

Men’s top seed at the on-going 47th edition of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Senior Tennis Championship, Abua Canice, on Tuesday 16th of June qualified for the round of 16 after defeating hard fighting 11th seed, Sani Musa by 2-1 ( 6-4, 6-3).
Another round of 16 qualifier is Sani-Inabo Yahaya whose opponent, Ahli 6-0, 3 retired.
In the women’s category, top seed Mohammed Khadijat continues to justify her position in Nigeria women’s tennis cadre when she defeated Maxwell Timipre by two sets to love, 6-1, 6-1 while tournament seed 6, Ogunjobi Success sent wide card entrant, Samuel packing with a 2-0 defeat of 6-0,6-3.
In other women’s singles results, Udofia Mary sent out Blessing Otu by two sets to love, 6-1,6-1 to join top seed, Mohammed Khadijat and Ogunjobi Success in the quarter final race while seed 2, Emmanuel-Essien Bright ran home with a 2-0 victory over her opponent.
Also, Godwin Mary outclassed Benjamin Indifreke 6-1, 6-2 as Bamidele Abosede dismissed Ogah Loveth 6-2, 6-2
