Gombe United has been indicted for misconducts in the opening match of the Nigeria National League, 2021 Super Eight playoff against El-Kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri and are to pay the sum of five hundred thousand nairas (N500,000,00).
Gombe challenged the decision of the referee in the encounter and made serious attempts to assault the referee and the match commissioner for what they termed an unfavorable decision after El-Kanemi took the lead.
Their fans and club officials all ran into the field and held up the game to the surprise of many and in front of dignitaries present, an act which brought the game to disrepute.
