
Prof. Lima Tukur, Vice Chancellor, Moddibo Adama University (MAU), Yola, has enjoined the newly admitted students of the university to ensure compliance with the COVID-19 protocols during and after lectures.
Tukur gave the charge at the matriculation of the 2,341 newly admitted students of the institution on Saturday in Yola.
According to him, the COVID-19 third wave is a major health challenge which the university has been battling to contain.
”I call on all of us to play our parts in the fight against the virus. We must strictly adhere to all the COVID-19 protocols, wear face mask, observe social distancing, regular handwashing and use of sanitizer,” he said.
Tukur also called on the students to cooperate with the university management to stem spread of the disease.
He said that 913 of the 2,341 matriculating students were admitted as Direct Entry, adding that the total undergraduate registered fresh students comprised of 1,631 males and 710 females.

The VC said that the university had got approval to begin new academic programmes in various disciplines.
He listed the programmes to include Medicine; Surgery, Accounting, Business Administration, Banking and Finance, Economics, Library and Information Science.
