By Linus Aleke

The High Command of the Nigerian Army, yesterday tasked field commanders, and their troops, not to allow the recent setbacks in Niger State, to demoralize their spirit, rather they should intensify their efforts with renewed vigor to make the adversary continuously pay for their sins until they disappear or surrender.

The Chief of Policy and Plans (Army), Major General AB Ibrahim said this while, addressing participants at the ongoing Chief of Army Staff Combined Second and Third Quarters Conference, in Abuja.

He noted that the effort of the Nigerian Army has remained focused on ensuring the fulfilment of the Chief of Army Staff military strategic directive which ultimately centred on adequate training, equipment, and motivation of troops for desired operational successes.

Mohbad: “You remained resilient despite the bullying”, Show promoter, Paul Okoye says

According to him, “Our kinetic operations across various theatres of operations have continued to record unprecedented successes, while our non-kinetic efforts across the federation have yielded the desired outcome. We are encouraged not to be demoralized by the recent incidents in Niger State, but to intensify our efforts with renewed vigour to make the adversary continuously pay for their sins until they disappear or surrender. Let me then echo that this conference is designed to provide us with a platform to reflect on our global achievements while appeasing our operations and activities in the second and third quarters of this year to obtain plans that align with our overall goals in furtherance of national security. It will also provide us with a unique opportunity to engage in honest discussion and insightful conversation and decisions that will guarantee more success in our operations and other engagements. Premised on the foregoing, and the presentation during the conference, are to focus on key areas requiring deliberate appraisal that generate better strategies to enhance our performance”.

General Ibrahim also urged participants to take an active part and make valuable contributions that will spur the Nigerian Army to greater heights and continuously impact positively on their collective effort to improve national security.

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, said the Nigerian Army, working in line with constitutional provisions of combating external aggression and internal insurrection will upscale its operations against all threats, in all zones of the Federation.

The COAS who said this at the sideline of the ongoing quarterly conference said: “Our focus will be against banditry, kidnapping and other related crimes in the Northwest, insurgency and terrorism in the northeast, farmers-herders clashes, the insurrection in the southeast and even economic sabotage and associated crimes in the south-south region. We are not going to leave any of these zones unprotected or without attention. We will continue to conduct our operations under the auspices of operations Hadarin Daji in the northwest and we intend to upscale manpower and equipment in all these theatres so that quickly we can bring the much-desired peace, and stability to the law-abiding citizens”.
