NAF Air Task Force Destroys Terrorist Training Camp, Logistics Facilities in Borno

The Operation Lafiya Dole, Air task force component fighting insurgents in the North east has decimated ISWAP training camps as well as logistics facilities in Tumbun Barorowa area of Borno state.
A statement by Major General, John Enenche, Coordinator Defence Media operations, Defence Headquarters, explained that the sustained air strikes deployed against terrorist elements in the North East of the Country under the subsidiary Operation WUTAR TABKI , yielded the results.
He said the firepower of the air task force led to the destruction of Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) Training Camp, along with some of their logistics storage facilities, at Tumbun Barorowa on the fringes of Lake Chad in Borno State.
According to General Enenche, the air interdiction mission was undertaken on 19 October 2020 sequel to credible Human Intelligence (HUMINT) reports indicating that the settlement served as venue for the training of ISWAP fighters.
He added that a confirmatory aerial surveillance missions also led to the identification of some structures under dense vegetation within the settlement where the terrorists store their small arms and logistics supplies.
Upon intelligence gathering, the Air Task Force dispatched an appropriate force package of Nigerian Air Force (NAF) fighter jets and helicopter gunships, whose barrage of bombs and rockets hit the target structures which went into flames with several of ISWAP terrorists killed in the process of fighting back
