An Indian couple have filed a lawsuit against their son over his refusal to give them grandchildren.

A $650,000 compensation was also demanded by the couple from their son.

In their petition, the couple, Sanjeev and Sadhana said that they had been going through financial hardship after spending their life savings for their son’s wedding

They also claimed that living alone as an old couple caused them mental disturbance.

“Our son has been married for six years but he is still not planning a baby with his wife. At least if we have a grandchild to spend time with, our pain will become bearable,” the couple said in their petition filed with a court in Haridwar recently.

“We also had to take a loan to build our house and now we are going through a lot of financial hardships. Mentally too we are quite disturbed because we are living alone,” they added.
