Protest Against FSARS Continues

Nigerians says they re determined to see to the scrap of FSARS on Saturday in Abuja as they trooped out to the streets to demand the scrapping of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, a unit of the Nigeria Police, over the continued brutality, torture, harassment and extrajudicial killings.

The protesters demand the Nigerian Government scrapped the unit.

The protesters say they want the unit disbanded rather than reformed.

The protesters converged at the police force headquarters, Abuja.

ThisNigeria recalled that the Nigerian inspector general of police Mohammed Adamu on Sunday,  banned the SARS unit from carrying out stop and search duties and setting up roadblocks.

He also said members of SARS must always wear uniforms and promised the unit would be investigated.

But protesters want the unit disbanded completely.
