The Defence Headquarters (DHQ), said that troops in all theatres of operation killed no fewer than 52 terrorists and nabbed 53 criminals across the federation while carrying out ambushes, raids, rescue operations, fighting patrols, attacks as well as cordon and search operations within the period under review.
The military high command also disclosed that a total of seven terrorists comprising five adult males and one adult female surrendered to troops of Operations Hadin Kai.
Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Edward Buba, who made this disclosure in a statement, added that seven suspected oil thieves were also nabbed, while 61 kidnapped hostages, were rescued within the period under review.
General Buba said that within the same period, troops of Operation WIRL STROKE conducted 22 operations; 13 fighting patrols, 6 confidence-building patrols and one raid operation in Mbaayande, Mbamazu and Mbaagudu villages of Konshiga LGA of Benue State.
He added that a fighting patrol was conducted in Logo LGA while some arrests were made around Okpokwu LGA of Benue State.

Troops of Operation DELTA SAFE, General Buba said, denied oil theft of an estimated sum of Nine Hundred and Forty-six Million, Three Hundred and Eighty-seven Thousand Five Hundred and Seventy Naira, being the value of seizures.
The operations in South-South, he said, resulted in the recovery of 496,250 litres of stolen crude oil, 83,400 litres of illegally refined AGO, 1,200 litres of PMS, four pumping machines, five Speed Boats, 34 dugout pits, 57 storage tanks, 16 wooden boats, 85 ovens and three outboard engines.
He also noted that troops recovered a total of 77 weapons and 658 assorted kinds of
ammunition.
The breakdown, he said are: “53 AK47 rifles, two AK47 rifles loaded with eight rounds of 7.62mm special ammo, 18 locally fabricated rifles, one Beretta pistols, three pump action guns, 650 rounds of 7.62mm special ammo, 50 AK47 magazines, two rounds of 9mm ammo, six rounds of 7.62 NATO, five fragmentation jackets.
Furthermore, troops recovered 15 vehicles, 12 motorcycles, 12 bicycles, five mobile phones, 12 cutlasses, two generator sets, two gas cylinders, 133 livestock and a sum of N602,000 and Airtel airtime worth N8,000”.
He further noted that the military will, through its operations, continue to make improvements towards ensuring the safety of citizens and restoring security across the country.
He, however, encouraged citizens to “know something, say something and let the military do something about it.”
