A video showing an Afghan TV news presenter, Mirwais Haidari Haqoost, surrounded by gun-wielding members of the Taliban while on air, has gone viral.
In the video retweeted by Iranian journalist, Masih Alinejad, the presenter could be heard asking the people of Afghanistan not to be scared of the Islamist group.
Alinejad tweeted: ‘This is surreal. Taliban militants are posing behind this visibly petrified TV host with guns and making him say that people of #Afghanistan shouldn’t be scared of the Islamic Emirate.
‘Taliban itself is synonymous with fear in the minds of millions. This is just another proof.’
